Wendy Williams @ Betta Quality Blinds & Curtains

Art: Lino Prints

Artist Residence: MIDDLETON

Wendy is an artist inspired by her immediate environment. The land and seascapes are constant sources of inspiration for the development of her paintings and prints. Influenced by the hand coloured wood block prints of Margaret Preston Wendy’s relief prints are a fusion of hard edge line and subtle blended colour.

'Pencil Journeys Across the Page.'

Artist Residence: VICTOR HARBOR

Charles Ball has been a resident of Victor Harbor since 1987.  He is a self taught artist in a variety of artistic fields including leatherwork, painting, drawing, carving, miniature boats in bottles.  Charles says he is not an artist but someone where "pencil journeys occur across the page".

Jessie Faye @ The Olive Leaf Cafe

Art: Mixed Media

Artist Residence: CURRENCY CREEK

Creating has always been a part of my life. Countless Saturday mornings all throughout my childhood were spent in bed, pencil and paper in hand. But after my beloved High School art classes left me feeling incompetent and frustrated, I left to pursue a more fulfilling time in my life of travel and adventure.

In 2015 I was encouraged to get more serious about my love of art and have since been pursuing my art goals with more focus. Securing a couple of local outlets to sell my art through and some commissioned peices here and there, my dreams are starting to become reality.

Having no professional training, I am constantly learning and experimenting, discovering more about myself and my artistic ability as I go.

RichardJohn image.jpg

Richard John @ Harbor Barber

Art: Paintings

Artist Residence: VICTOR HARBOR

Richard John is a self taught artist who has successfully exhibited as part of Sala for a number of years, as well as at Tusk Gallery in Melbourne and the annual art show in his hometown of Victor Harbor. He paints things that he likes to paint: mainly commissions of children and dogs, but also paints things that he sees around him, like the 50's caravan that appears in many of his paintings. There are some beautiful old vans still around and they evoke childhood memories of freedom, innocence and simplicity. His caravan - a 1956 Globetrotter - serves both as a "prop" for his paintings and a source of constant inspiration.

Kylie Didelot @ Eco Child

Art: 'A Delicate Nature' - Mixed Mediums

Artist Residence: MIDDLETON

A love for experimenting with different mediums/colours and textures and

blending one another together to create a cohesive flow within the painting. With this process layers develop and grow, some are revealed, some are hidden and some are still emerging. For Kylie painting has always been a release of expression in creating artwork to reflect the moment, the past and to echo the unknown.

Drawing on Country - Where Art meets Environment' @ the Victor Harbor Regional Gallery

What happens when people are invited to interpret their local environment through an artistic lens? A diverse group of novice, amateur and professional artists from Victor Harbor spent a day together sharing and exploring. This exhibition is a result of that exploration. This project was proudly initiated and supported by Country Arts SA and The City of Victor Harbor.
